The points below describe what you can expect to happen

during a consultation:

 

Detailed Medical HistoryDuring your first consultation your detailed medical history is taken. A digital camera may be used to record the condition of your feet before, during and after treatment. 

 

AssessmentAt the start of the consultation the current health of you feet will be assessed. The assessment covers several aspects: Neurological, vascular. skin condition and orthopaedic.

Neurological assessment considers  reflexes and sense of touch for your feet.

Vascular assessment considers the blood supply to your feet and examines indicators such as colour, temperature and pulse.

The skin and nail condition is examined for the presence of infections and other problems such as nail deformities, corns and calluses.

The orthopaedic assessment considers aspects such as suppleness and range of motion within the joints, stance and gait.

 

AdviceAfter considering your comments and following the completion of the assessment the diagnosis will be made. The  treatment will be explained and agreed between both parties. Advice will be given to improve the foot health and prevent other problems.

TreatmentThe treatment will be monitored and re-assessed as required.

Foot massageAt the end of the consultation, a foot massage is given. This has the following benefits: Its relax the foot, improves the blood supply and helps lymphatic drainage.

A suitable massage cream is used to improve the hydration of the skin.
